Designed in 1956 by Poul Kjærholm and produced by E. Kold Christensen (later Fritz Hansen), the PK22 is one of the most formally resolved lounge chairs in the history of Scandinavian design. Its matte brushed steel frame a Kjærholm signature carries a suspended seat and back in a construction that is simultaneously rigorous and effortlessly elegant.
Kjærholm trained as a cabinetmaker before turning to steel, and the PK22 reflects that dual sensibility: industrial precision in the frame, natural warmth in the upholstery.
